skyfire updates

Perhaps one of the best news I’ve received today, besides Dennis and Anne who brought me lunch and wine (Thanks so much guys!). Skyfire is has finally released it’s public beta! Skyfire is a new web browser for mobile phones. There has been alot of talk about it being the rising star among the more established browsers.

I just tried it and this think ROCKS!! I can FINALLY see my flash slideshow playing on the mobile phone! And also, youtube videos plays right in the browser, yes, in the browser! Another thing, it loads amazingly fast too. I hope this beta version will last for awhile.

Ok, back to editing now…

i hate myself for loving you

I found this version by Katie Holmes. The singing isn’t great, but it sure doesn’t sound as depressing as Joan Jett’s version. It helps being Katie too. Katie married Katek… ah…

One step at the time. I’ll get out of this.

CSI… retro.

I guess I’m really in the retro mood today. This song just appeared from nowhere… I think I’m screwed.

*drum rolls*

“开封有个包青天…”

Here’s the video, in case you haven’t heard it before. Did I mention I am super cheena? This is my version of CSI:P

positive

Went wakeboarding yesterday morning, hoping to iron out some moves and banish some painful thoughts. Didn’t do too well and got hell from Jem (the driver). He has been scolding me for the longest of time (most of the time for my own good, although sometimes I think he just do it to get the kick out of it), but this time it felt much worse than any other time.

I just couldn’t land my jumps properly. He got real pissed and shouted across the water, “if you are scared, don’t wakeboard!!”. Sigh… I’ve never felt so close to tears before. Even though I knew his intentions, it still hurt like hell. Anyway, I just kept telling myself to be positive, to try again and again till I get it right. Even though I still didn’t get it, I know there’ll be another day to try again.

When I took a break, he told me that he doesn’t understand why I’m always trying so hard, trying to be perfect and why I’m always thinking. I wonder how much of what he said is linked to what I am like in real life. In trying, sometimes, we hurt ourselves more than we know. I have much to learn…

Some comforting parts, he said he’ll teach me how to do a backroll some time. Good, I’ve been wanting to learn that.

bitch… bitch… (ok, it’s nothing offensive, just bad hearing)

A random song (a Pet Shop Boys medley) just played on my PC. The first song “what have i done to deserve this” used to be one of my favourite songs while I was schooling. It’s one of those self pity song you’d sing along to at Zouk (mambo night) after receiving examination results. And the memories that accompany the song will be that of me not attending classes, not doing tutorials… rollerblading… and a hell lot more:P

Ok lah, I wasn’t that bad a student. I just think I’m not exactly good with numbers (and I was in Engineering!!). I was better at drawing… my lecture notes are usually filled with drawings. How I miss those junk. Somehow, I have bad hearing as well. In case you don’t know, I NEED to read subtitles in movies. Doesn’t matter if it’s chinese or english, I just need visual reading aids. This applies to music as well. I usually can’t figure what the singers are singing.

And this one, “hearts” by Pet Shop Boys is one of those super memorable ones (partly because the intro sounds like the theme song from Journey to the West). If you notice, most of they lyrics is quite easy to catch, till they go… “beats…. beats… heartbeats…”. I’m writing this because for the longest of time I heard, “bitch… bitch… hard bitch…”. I must’ve hated some woman really bad that time. It was funny. Now I still laugh at it:D Especially when I look at this MTV. Funny like hell! Now, this is halloween style wedding!:P

An unusual wedding invitation

Terry and Wenxin popped by my place to check out the albums before their wedding this Sunday. We had a good chat and they gave me a wedding invite, which I thought was rather thick. After my dinner, I decided to open it up (I usually associate thick envelopes to ang pows… but this is different:P). To my surprise, I found a very well designed card with a CD in it.

Popped it into my PC and up came a flash program with quite a number of informative stuff about their wedding. The I saw the proposal video. I know you guys are reading this, I just want to tell you that it’s simply mind blowing!!!! The proposal took place underwater at Singapore’s underwater world. It was quite comical when Wenxin did the “ok” sign when Terry showed her the note “will you marry me?”. But that little hug sums up everything.

My contacts were a little dry today. But this proposal video certainly made it a little wetter now. Thanks for the beautiful invite. Can’t wait to see you guys this Sunday!:)

Gene and Su Lin

I have been getting comments that I’m not posting slideshows anymore. Well, I think I’d like to keep some to show people when they are at my place rather than showing everything on my blog. In future, I’ll just put up one on the 7th of every month. But for today, I’m making up for October’s.

One of the most hilarious wedding I’ve ever shot. When I first met Gene and Su Lin, Gene looked serious. Su Lin always refer him to the bald headed guy. Due to the lack of bridesmaid on the bride’s side, we have a gatecrash session with more than 5 guys on each side and only a lady. When you get guys on opposing sides, hell breaks loose. I was literally watching “porn” at the corridor. The poor video guy had to censor majority of it for the highlights. Well, another highlight for me, I had a stomachache halfway through the gatecrash and requested that I get into the house first. Shit happens sometimes…

The dinner was pretty exceptional as well. I’ve never heard speeches so funny before. No reservations at all. From parents, friends and the bride and groom themselves. Not the most polictically correct speech. In fact, none at all.

To Gene and Su Lin, thank you for having me at your wedding. Everytime I feel down, I’d think of you guys. It always makes my day a little brighter:) And thanks for the fantastic breakfast at your place. We’ll definitely catch up again soon.

a lighthouse

Sometimes, i take pictures like an engineer. Very structured kind of way. Symmetries, lines and categorizing things into different parts of the image (ok, that sounds a little more like a librarian).
