My third day in Hongkong now. Temperature has dropped almost 10degC since I arrived and it’s due to drop another 10 by tomorrow. That’s a good change from Singapore’s 35 – 36 degC “spring”. The shoot is going to happen in about 30mins time. This shoot is going to be “no sweat” for me. I’m sure.
And I’m happy that we’ve got 4 placings in the final quarter of the WPJA 2009 Contest. It’s one of those things that makes you smile after a year of making wedding images. It sounds kinda silly, but it’s like having exams. The morning I received the emails, I logged into the website via my phone while still in bed and scrolled through them one by one. It’s just one of those fun things that I miss during school… checking results (not all the time though! lol!). Many thanks to the couples who have given me the opportunity to do this.

Yes, let’s run. That’s what happens when the photographer asks you to trespass:D It was a fantastic day, thank you guys!:D

I’ve forgotten how happy the boys were when they are at the beach, until Ken and Daphne’s wedding where they were kinda invited to the beach party:D I remember I brought them to the beach once, Kenji was sleeping under the shade while Kago was playing fetch. Good memories of old times. One of the gazillion images that we took that day.

Just a quick one before I dive into the sea of images again!

i have a blister on my hand and listening to korean techno pop while photoshop is doing it’s work.
Some memorable stuff I’ve heard over the past week.
Client called “I’m at your place already. Is it at the toilet bowl?” (My neighbour’s shop sells kitchen and bathroom stuff).
Client said “I saw more diving pictures than wedding when I went to your blog” (when asked if he has checked out my website yet, good thing he’s a diver:))
This one abit longer than a week, client said “my friend asked me, I thought you paid alot (ok, that’s not true
) for a photographer to take your pictures? how come a JC boy (that’s not true either:P) turned up?” (But thank you, I take that as a compliment:P)

Ah… so that’s how it felt to be on the other side of the camera. After finishing up the family portraits for my (ex)housemate and his family, I got to carry baby Isaac. And they were busy making Isaac smile and the picture of 3 adults doing a “peek-a-boo” action in unison is just way too funny. Alright, it was fun. And credits to Eugene for the photo. See, anybody can shoot:)
Oh yes, let not my mum see this. Else, I’m gonna get a earful of nagging again.

Where do I even begin?
“your last post was dated 14th January 2010.”
“…and now it’s just a picture…”
“why why why no updates?”
This are just some feedback I got from friends. This blog have been in coma for a little more than 3 weeks now. Which means that I’ve been really working me bottoms off for the past 3 weeks. I wish there’s a device that can write while I talk, so I can update my blog in the car. That’s one space that gives me the most inspiration. For once, I can understand how one felt when they say “the renovations and house is giving me a big headache!”. Well, I don’t think mine’s the exactly the case. I spent a fair bit of time doing up the place a little and cleaning the entire place by myself, but I think changing my lifestyle is the one that took a little time adjusting. eg. not walking straight into the office from the bedroom when I wake up. Now I understand why it’s so important not to have the office in the bedroom or right beside it.
To cut the story short, I love the change of lifestyle here. No Breakfast and moldy food has become a thing in the past:) Let’s hope this New Year will be a good one.
Here are two images I took late last year:)

To my valued readers and clients, thank you for your patience and I’m sorry if I could not reply to your emails as soon as I wanted. Things are back to normal now and we’re in full swing:)
Just an hour ago, the last piece of furniture -the refrigerator – rolled into position. The move is finally complete. Started on the 3rd day of this new year, I moved my office equipments into the new shophouse along Joo Chiat Road. From then on, I have been spending most of my time setting things up, unpacking, repacking, mopping (constantly checking my sole to see if it’s dirty), tossing coins (heads keep, tails throw), etc. Last night, I was incredibly relieved that everything was done up the way I wanted. And I can call it home. At least for the next few years.
Next up, I’ll be delivering passion (well, some call it work) to the couples whose wedding I have photographed for the past few weeks. Then, I’ll look through my archives for images to be hung up. All these are getting me excited!:D
I look forward to seeing you guys at my new place!:)

Hello folks! It’s the end of the year. Managed to keep to the deadlines and did my last wedding of the year today. It was awesome! Having activities packed back to back, I barely had time to reflect what has gone past in the last 12 months. I guess I’ll have to do that and the new year resolutions at the new place. So what’s in store for the new year. On New Year’s day itself will be shopping, shopping and more shopping for stuff needed for the new place. And yes, I can’t wait to move in!:D
A note to all my clients from the past year, I can’t thank you guys enough for your patience and support. Words cannot express (maybe can, but my vocab is lousy) what I feel about you guys. Big wedding, small wedding, above water, under water… you guys rock!:D
Here’s wishing everyone a very Happy New Year and a great year ahead! Keep the passion burning! In work and in love:D
And here’s one reason why you should have kids. They rock!:D

Milk… what milk?:D
Chill guys, it’s under adult supervision. I guess, we all celebrate the same way, young or old.

On the new place: My RAD couch was in yesterday. It looks HAWT!!! Made some changes to the original arrangements and figured out what lights I’d need as well. Things seem to be falling in place once the basic furnitures are in. I can’t wait to move in in early January!
One of my new year resolution would be, to post something at least once every 2 days. It’s not easy, but hey, let’s see if I make it!:) Here’s an image from a Pre-wedding shoot.

I was wondering if I should post this. This is after all, where my clients come to see my work:) Someone (and then followed by alot of other people…) once asked me, “so… what’s your style?”. Reminds me of the interviews where the interviewers go, “so… tell me more about yourself?”. Duh… “I’m five foot five, weighs one hundred and twenty five pounds, smart (read: gao keng), possess excellent communication skills, etc… and believe that you will hire me with double my expected salary”. When you ask a question, you more or less expect certain kind of answers. So I wonder, what kind of answers do other photographers give when you ask “what’s your style?” “Journalistic”, “avant garde” or “boomz”?
If a picture tells a thousand words, one should be able to see it from the portfolio. I guess it’s easier when someone ask, “so why did you shoot this (pair of hands, legs or some other parts of the body… sounds like my style:P)? I will tell you when you are here:)
Alright, so here’s the picture that kinda made me stop while I was editing to have a good laugh. I remember I wasn’t going after that waiter, but he showed up in my frame and I can’t help but focus on him instead. The result cracked me up a little at that time.
Here I wish all readers a Merry (Marry) Christmas!:D I’ll leave the New Year greetings on another post… don’t waste:P
I love clients who live to laugh:)

Christmas is round the corner and I have yet experienced the buzz going around Orchard Road. People have been telling me about the jams, humans, cars and shopping bags. Looks like I’m missing out alot of good deals in town. For me, I have been shuttling between furniture shops, new place, lighting shops, electronic marts, etc. I didn’t know I NEED to get so much stuff.
I have decided I’m going to take this one step at the time. Furnitures in first, lights, movers then pick the pictures to put up. A few more assignments before the year concludes and I’m happy to say that… it’s been a really good year with some freaking awesome clients. Now, here’s a picture that I really like. The lady in red top is the bride’s mum. I love how this is being framed. Somehow, I would like this to be on my wall.
