weddings
I was delivering passion.
At Regent Hotel. My former workplace. I used to work part time as a banquet waiter while waiting for my O Level results and had some really fond memories of that place. I’m not going to publish the stuff we did “behind the scenes”, but going back to the hotel as a photographer again does bring back some bittersweet memories. This wedding in particular, one of the older banquet managers came up to me and said I look familiar. We struck a short conversation while waiting for some guests to be ushered into the ballroom. Talked about the previous restaurants and the various changes made to this hotel.
As I drove home that night, I remembered our late night company bus rides back home after the banquet had ended. My first paycheck, which I spent it all on branded jeans (which I probably worn once cause I thought I looked ridiculous in branded stuff). ‘Trumpeting’ my first bottle of Tiger beer at Newton circus after work. Our frequent late night hangouts at the billiards parlour at Far East Shopping Center. Sharing hotel ghost stories and those lonely walks in the middle of the night along the staff corridors. All these didn’t seem to happen that long ago as my ID had suggested.
We grow old so we can reminisce the good times. Happy 2012 folks!:D May the year bring happiness among your family and friends.
I love my country. I love my singlish.
Something from this morning. We haven’t seen the sun for almost 2 months. I hope the beginning of 2012 brings less rainy weather so I can resume my skateboarding. Probably get myself a Xootr so I can scoot around the neighbourhood.
…the hardest thing on earth and I’m regularly used to break banks.
That’s really sweet. But does that mean having a wedding everyday too?:D No wait, that’s damn stressful.
A few days back, someone asked me how long I’ve been shooting. Coming to 8. Then today someone asked me the same thing and then asked me if I’m tired of shooting after 8 years. It’s funny because no one actually asked me if I’m tired of living, after like… many many years:x Well, truth is, I still love what I’m doing very much. I’m not saying here so that you think that I’ve lost my passion. If there’s anything that will I will lose first, it’s probably my patience. The last I checked, it’s still within healthy levels.
I just want to say something that came to my mind today. You can spend an entire lifetime doing something you don’t enjoy and still end up with nothing. If you have something you want to do, just do it.
I just had KFC.
