Jonaven and Yingying

Felt like another reunion dinner for me again. I shot Jonaven and Yingying’s solemnization last year and now we are at it again, this time for their traditional wedding day + banquet. And after one long year, I finally got to listen to the wonderful voices of a a little dream (Hsin Yeow, Bevelyn, Ein Ein and Jonathan). Also another pal, Yang from Substance Films whom I last saw in December. Jonaven is particularly fun… especially after some brandy… loosen up baby!:)

Oh oh… and the grapes at Swissotel were the best I’ve ever had.

Yoke Peng and Vincent

So, 29th Sept 2007 marks a few firsts for me. My first time shooting from the groom’s place in the morning. First time traveling to Johor Baru in a wedding car to pick up the bride. And my first time shooting in Grand Hyatt. The dinner banquet was really fun, with a team from a little dream performing live. And and! I met an old friend, Alex from Captured Moments. It’s been a long long time since we last met, man… time really flies. Ok, I know I’m bad at writing, I’ll let the photos do the talking… we’ve got a 100 here:)

So happy together:)

I shot Cindy and Dennis(‘s) wedding last year during election day. It was a really memorable day. I still remember having to shoot the wedding, rush back to my old constituency to vote and then back home to edit some photos for the wedding highlights for the dinner, all in 3 hours. It’s almost like the amazing race.

448 days later, we did another shoot together again, this time, no elections, no tea ceremonies, no rush, just a great time out together. The couple invited me over their place while they made some fantastic cupcakes (which I got a couple of them back for breakfast). Then we lazed around till the weather cooled down a little before we headed for some outdoor locations. The shoot was fun, no fuss, no big gowns. No photo shoot is complete without a good meal (same applies to Wedding days), so we headed for Sunset Grill at Seletar camp for some super duper spicy buffalo wings.

Aidan’s first birthday

Although I’m very sure he won’t remember any of these, but I’m sure the rest of the guys there enjoyed them. Hey! isnt’ that why photography is so important?!:P Okie, sales bug struck again:P We all had fun that day, and everyone had a “piece” of him, even I did!:) But knowing I’m absolutely hopeless with babies… Aidan cried within secs in my arms. I know I suck, cause no one else had this problem!! Better stick to taking pictures instead:) The setup was based on a pirate’s theme. Here’s a little slideshow of the event, check out grand dad’s matching top!!

After the party, we headed for the Newton Circus of Penang after failing to get a reservation at Rice and Spice. Food was alright, but I very much preferred the ones I had the following day. Best Chendol in Penang. Best Chestnuts (Gao Lak) I’ve ever had. Best Laksa in Penang. Best Char Kway Teow (they used duck eggs instead… it’s fantastic!) in Penang. Not to forget, best stunt of the day, by nearly missing my flight back home.

Extended MC

…no chance to see the protest, still down with fever. Heard the turnout was lesser but based on the photos I see, still looks like a great party! And I just read Bush is leaving tonight, which means no more protest tomorrow. Ok, much lesser I guess. I shall rest and be patient… when’s the next APEC?:)

Here are some photos from the press (looks like the Karneval in Germany!! minus the Police),

I want to protest!!! Why did I fall sick now?!!

Jasmine and Chris – a wedding presentation

Just one of the weddings from the month of July. If you find Jasmine familiar, yeah… she’s the bride in my “若隐若现” series:)
