food for the soul

What makes the soul of music? I wonder. What makes the soul of an image? …

arty farty

Just the other day, Chris and Pris asked if I’d like to go for Singapore Biennale. My understanding of this event is, it’s an art exhibition of some form. Me, know no art, never been to art school, never understood the meaning of art. I tried understanding it, but realized, if you like it, it’s art, if you don’t, it’s just a short form for rubbish. I think appreciating art is abit like tuning your radio receiver. When you are in the same frequency as the artist, you hear music, if you don’t… all you hear is static or some foreign stations,

I told them that since I know crap about art, I’ll just go there and have a look and pretend to be the arty farty kind. I figured that if I just stand there and do nothing, I’d look like one of those arty sort.

The farty bit will come when I start talking:P

vertically challenged

For those who have seen me, you should know that I’m actually not a very tall person, more like an overgrown dwarf, hobbit… whatever, you get the idea. Some say, vertically challenged. Sometimes it works against me, but sometimes not. Like when I was in Holland, I could actually navigate between the legs of the people there:)

Today, my height worked for me again. Our kitchen lamp has been out of order for almost a week now, which means, we’ve been cooking instant noodles using our mobile phone lights:) Then I decided to “assign” (read: arrow) my housemate to buy the lights. When I came home just now, he complained that the starter isnt’ working as well. You see, since he already bought the lamp, so I’m kinda obligated to buy the starter. But I said, I can’t reach the lamp. He INSISTED I could and even ask me to climb up the ladder to try!! That dumbass.

So I went up and… I missed the mark by probably 2 cm. Woohoo!! Rarely do you see people getting so happy because of their lack of height. He just said, “why did your parents make you so short?” to which I said, “to piss you off mate”:P That dumbass is going to buy the starter and put it up tomorrow so we won’t be BBQ-ing in the dark on Sunday:) Oh yes, and that stupid rat that’s driving the two dogs crazy, my advice is, LEAVE before we BBQ you as well.

Alritie, I’m leaving for Kyra’s birthday party!:)

making babies

Apparently, it requires a fair bit of knowledge to know what you are making. Sometime back, an ex-colleague was telling us how to “try” for baby boys. There’s some calculation involved, which I don’t remember. But he did get a baby boy, by luck or by mathematics, I’m not sure.

Then recently, a friend told me that she read that geographical position has something to do with the gender of the baby. Ok, I think this is bullshit, but I like the way people came up with this. So in Singapore, my advice is, don’t try it in Changi:)

Today, my client who’s going to Japan for honeymoon told me, “Things seem to be of better quality when they are made in Japan”. No wonder honeymoon packages to Japan are so popular:)
