Happy Birthday Julius!!:D

My cute little nephew’s birthday today. I saw his recent photos yesterday at my mum’s place. So darn cute!! Can’t wait to see him again.

Haven’t had time to do up another pic for him. Here’s an old one taken when he was here in April.

Please let me have the tickets

…for Russell Peters performance.

I’ll be in Penang when the tickets go on sale this Wednesday. I’ll be so darn upset if it gets sold out.

Bum bum be-dum bum bum be-dum bum

Just can’t get this tune out of my head…

When I drive, the song tends to sound like…

“Dumb dumb de-dumb dumb dumb de-dum dum…”

Sorta sums up the kind of drivers I see on the roads…

911

The documentary on 9-11 on History Channel. I can’t remember when was the last time I didn’t fall asleep watching a full documentary. Reminds me the time when I was in Australia, watching the news live on television. Sometimes, I wonder, if the truth is really what we think it is.

I need to sleep now. Been a long day.

welcome to my neighbourhood

Well well, we’re IN the news again. Not for a very good reason though. The vacant school just 2 streets away from my place is going to be converted into a dormitory for foreign workers. How did I find out? A kind neighbour came over and asked me to sign the petition, which I did. I mean, why would I want my peaceful neighbourhood to house a dorm. I won’t even agree if they want to build a school (as “patriotic” as I am, I don’t need a bunch of kids to remind me how to raise my flag sing the national anthem every morning)!:D I want a quiet neighbourhood.

Alright, so “we” have been getting quite abit of flak on the internet, newspapers, etc. People think that “we” are acting “atas”, which I have no idea why they think that way… you don’t hear of very rich gardeners, do you?:P I don’t think anyone will like the dormitory to be built anywhere near your homes. You can write to papers about how Singaporeans should embrace foreigners and all, but tell me about it when you stay near to one. Would you move to a neighbourhood surrounded by foreign workers (if you have a choice)? Sometimes, we do certain things we do because we don’t really have a choice.

We, just like to complain, our business or not. Even if they decide to house the foreign workers in Istana, there will still be unhappy folks. Where do these foreign workers now stay anyway? Are they coming in for the IR project? Why not in Sentosa? Nearer to the source. Maybe beside Sentosa Cove:P

Ok lah, nothing personal (and definitely not serious) against those who have their own opinions ok? I don’t own this place and I’m not racist (I’m just like Russell Peters, I like to make color jokes). Better still, if the prices plummet, maybe I get better rental rates next year:) But honestly, I prefer not to… call me anything you want (someone just called me a camera?!?! ok, i shan’t go into the interpretations), but I’m not willing to have this change in my neighbourhood. If you do, you may submit a proposal to house them at your neighbourhood:)

And here’s one of my favourite songs in the 90s… neighbourhood:)

it’s been awhile…

…since I attended a wedding, as a guest. You know, that kind that have to give red packets:P j/k. Edwin, the guy who started wedding photography with me invited me to his wedding dinner tonight. It feels strange to be sitting down in a wedding banquet. When I saw him, he jokingly asked me, “didn’t bring your camera?”. I replied, “can you just let me be normal for once?”

I left halfway through the dinner as I felt a little unwell, I think the flu bug has caught up. Need to get some medication tomorrow. Can’t believe we ran out of panadols. While I was driving back in the heavy downpour, alot of random thoughts (with regards to weddings) went through my mind.

I think, I prefer to be special (abnormal if you like).

something extra:

my super duper cool looking dry cabinet arrived today! my camera equipments got their home upgraded from tents to bungalow now!:D

new tricks from wakeboarding. manage to land some 2 wake toeside 180s. i’m loving my board, it’s giving me consistency. but i dropped it and it got scratched:(

tomorrow, more work to do… hopefully the fever goes away. else i’m going to call in for MC. where’s my mirror?

after more than a year…

I’ve decided I should be more consistent with my wakeboarding. That also means, riding with the same board. After visiting the chiropractor to treat my shoulder joint, I popped by Mike’s board shop at Far East Shopping Center. Had a little chat with the staff there and decided I should just get the board.

It’s the Slingshot Recoil 2007 model. Not the prettiest design, but hey, it’s going at a great price!:D More importantly, it’s now MINE!! Went straight to Punggol after that to try it out. What a ride it was. I can’t wait to go back again next week!

Some pictures from the web (from activewake.com). Mine’s the olive one,

crap post

After buying the super duper cheap digital weighing scale, I’ve been “monitoring” my weight very closely. As in, before and after I take my meals or visit the loo:) Last time, I posted a record 2kg worth of crap. Today, I lost 0.7kg worth of water. Wow… shows how lazy I am (懒人屎尿多). Now I know where this saying comes from. It actually means I’m so lazy that I don’t visit the toilet often enough, thus “accumalating wealth”. Ok, I’m sorry to spoil your appetite.

Some other interesting things I found out. My camera gears including my bag weighs a whopping 10kg!!

updates:

maggie noodles (dry) + 2 eggs = 300g

diced chicken with rice + veggie = 900g (that’s ALOT of rice)

1 glass of water = 400g
