Big Meal

Met Eugene and Katrine for dinner at the Thai restaurant at Purvis Street. We were abit too excited over the food on the menu and “accidentally” ticked “large” on some items. Being an honest establishment, they mean it. I had to walk to City Hall and back to Tan Quee Lan so I can sit down in the car.

When I’m home, I went through the usual routine of weighing myself. 3 times in a row, the scale showed “8888” (which means error) when I stepped on it!! Anyway, when it finally worked, it indicates I took 2.1kg worth of food tonight:)

Thanks guys for the dinner and company!:D

What drives you?

Yesterday, my “personal psychiatrist” asked me this question. I never really thought about this question. Thought for a couple of seconds, and this was my answer (I hear someone shouting Caltex),

“the fear to die, therefore the need to live”

I am always amazed by the things I do. So dude, keep being amazing.

刀剑如梦

Just found my 周华健 CD. How I miss watching 倚天屠龙记. The Taiwanese version with Ye Tong and Ma Jingtao. Used to rent tapes because TV only plays 2 episode a week. Wonder where can I get the tapes now…

so they’re coming afterall

Heard the news over the radio last night. The government have decided to go ahead with the plans of having the dormitory for foreign workers in Serangoon Gardens. These guys will be from the manufacturing and service industries… which means they probably won’t be from Bangledesh? That means we can’t hold bhangra parties on weekends anymore… I was so looking forward to it.

Initially, I had planned to set up a provision shop there, but it seems like the government had it arranged already. Damn, another business plan gone down the drain. And to the fellas who label us as racist… screw you! I hope the next site will be right beside your house:D And no, I won’t call you a racist.

losing my mind

In this extremely stressful industry, it’s hard to keep your sanity for long. I’ve been trying very hard to divert my energy towards other forms of activities but finally… I caved in. Yesterday, I decided to seek help… I went to see a psychiatrist.

We had a good chat and he gave me some medication. A New York Fish and Chips and a Hot Vanilla drink. I’ve always found jobs like that fascinating. Imagine spending about 10 hours around crazy people (in IMH) 5 days a week. That’s equivalent to shooting 5 weddings a week man *respect*!! *LOL* j/k guys:P

Thanks for the drink mate!:) I hope I still appear sane:P

Btw, if you don’t get it, he’s a friend whom I met for lunch, not consultation:P

Out of office/bed today

It’s been awhile since I was out the entire day. Taking a little break from some intensive editing yesterday. After wakeboarding in the morning, I went down to the Motorshow at Suntec with my friend. Looking around, I saw ALOT of people bringing big SLRs to shoot the models. Frankly, I don’t know what they learn from doing that. Maybe there is really a lack of shooting opportunities in Singapore or maybe they just derive certain kind of pleasure from it. Coincidentally, they are ALL guys. It’s a tough life being a model.

As for the car show in general, it was quite a disappointment as only a handful of big car dealers were there (Nissan, Honda, Subaru, some truck brands, etc). But I did see something that I think I might want to get in the near future, a bike. Yeah, motorbike! Just have this feeling:) Probably the highlight was the stunt show… fantastic precision driving skills.

On our way to town, we nearly met with an accident. The car was cruising on CTE at about 50-60km/h in wet weather when a 14 foot lorry suddenly swerve (I mean really swerve) from the 2nd lane (which I have no idea why was he on that lane) to the 1st then swerving back again. The sudden action caused the 2 cars in front of me to jam their brakes. I managed to bring the vehicle to a stop inches away from the car in front. When we started moving off, I saw the cab driver behind me getting out of the car. I guess he got hit on the back by someone else because of the sudden stop. I felt so sorry for the guys, paying for someone else’s mistake. Just hope no one is hurt. I bet it’s going to hold up the traffic for awhile.

Overall, it was nice day. One more set of photos tonight and I’ll be done for the day:)

Are you like that?

This song came up on my mobile phone when I was taking a shower today (ah yes, I take my phone into the bathroom). I was a hi-tech ah beng once upon a time… that explains my music preference:P

I got this video through emails couple of years back and thought it’s really funny and holds some *understatement* truth. I guess all guys experienced this at some point or other in their lives. I think the author of this animation is a genius!:D
