Fixing and broken… harddisk

Those on facebook probably know that I was fixing a broken harddisk yesterday. After buying two new ones yesterday, the old one got a little jealous and threw a fit. So I retired her temporarily till I find a better solution. The result? I lost a couple of week’s worth of emails and some invoices. From this experience I realized a few things, backup more often and I’m really glad I’m running RAID on my image drives plus backup on DVDs.

In case you think you might have communicated with me through email and waiting for a reply, I hope you can just drop me another mail. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Spanking new room!:D

Before today, it looks like as if Achmed was here. Now, it’s like super duper clean and tidy!:D I’m talking about my room, my workspace. Now I FEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEL good!:D

This 7th month is doing me some good (minus those pesky traffic summons). Jeremy told me there’s a good deal on the Slingshot boards. I’m going to try them out sometime this week. If it’s all good, I’m going to finally own my own wakeboard!:D

Bought additional harddrives for my external storage box. Borrowed some books from the library (one of the most underused national resource imho). Tuned up my exercise regimes. Looking good. We’re set for the next season!:D

Alritie, let’s plan some BBQ first.

Olympic snippets

Oh yes, we finally have our silver medal. Nevermind the foreign talents (read so many comments on blogs and forums until my eyes also blur). Me also foreign, my mum say she picked me up from a rubbish bin. But I no talent. Maybe I’m local.

I’m not too sure why people get so upset of WE (Singapore) getting excited over “foreign talents” bringing back medals. Maybe I get excited because they are representing something I like (table tennis), some country I like (Singapore… I like the food, oh oh… and the government and world peace). It’s abit like how the local Man U fans get all excited over their team winning the Champions League. It’s sports afterall. Seeing a country that waited 48 good years to win a medal does make me feel abit for them. Moreover, it’s my country. I was watching it with my housemate (who coincidentally is an athelete). After Feng Tianwei won the first game, he stretched his hand over and I gave him a hi-five. Don’t think so much, it’s sports, enjoy it.

I read a report earlier today and they said Li Jiawei is a Beijinger. I thought the term Beijinger (like Newyorker, Londoner) is quite cool. I stay in Serangoon Gardens, so I must be a Gardener:D

After the table tennis game, we switched over to volleyball. The commentator must be the best one I’ve ever heard. He’s so darn funny!! It’s almost like a stand up comedy. The commentary is more interesting than the game itself, marginally better than the Italian volleyball girls:)

CONGRATS Singapore!!!:D

What a nail biting table tennis match between Singapore and Korea! Singapore won 3-2 in the womens team event!! Our first Olympic medal after like… donkey years. Freaking exciting!!! Unbelievable. My heart was pumping so hard I thought I’d die man.

Li Jiawei lost her game, but then, it’s ok. She’ll bounce back like a ping pong ball for the Singles event.:D

加油 Team Singapore!!

wooohoo!! Li Jiawei!!:D

My phonelines and network will be down from 2:25pm – 530pm. You call me, I kill you!:P *LOL*

Damn, Federer is out… don’t worry dude, it’s ok. You will bounce back… only when you hit the wall, just like a tennis ball:D Unless Kago catches it:P

dumb and dumber

Met up with my pals earlier today and I was telling them about my encounter with the spikey kind (3-for-S$200 durian) 2 weeks back. Everyone was laughing at my 菜头-ness and thinks that I would be in their “Hall of Fame” for the biggest 菜头.

Then, one of them confessed that a few years back, he paid S$280 for FOUR durians at Geylang. First thing I did was to do a quick division. Damn! He beat me by 3.3333 dollars per durian and toppled me as the All Time Biggest 菜头!:D

Oh, and something interesting. I was thinking of going for a full medical check up and then he told me that he went for some medical check up and the doc gave him an anal probe. Guess he got a clean pull through for getting the MOST comprehensive package! *LOL* You are not coming anywhere near my ass doc! This sentence will never sound right:P

It’s 3:55am. Stupid Teh Halia.

wansheng…

… loves to stay at 鸟不生蛋 places:D

Anyway, I’m heading to Epson service center (which is also at a 鸟不拉屎 place) now. I killed (rather, crippled) my printer… by feeding it with a facial cotton. It’s not the dumbest thing I’ve done. But I’m sure it’s ranked Top 10. I hope it’s not an expensive dumb act.

A little networking

Today I appeared “uninvited” at the WPAS meeting/forum. It’s basically a networking sessions among people from the wedding industry (mainly photographers I think). I chipped in as part of the panel during the Q&A session. Ok, I’m no public speaker, so it’s natural that I (involuntarily) added a little “抖音” when I was talking.

Anyway, I met up with some familiar faces. Eva and Mylene from TWP, Andrew Choi, Benny Ang (I shot a wedding with him before… when I first started, my 3rd shoot. He remembers me!:D), Kelvin aka Synapseman, Bernard (from Ave 8), Chor Hui… and many more. But! The most important person, is the our good friend, Ead’s gf, Jen. I guess we just can’t stop teasing both of them. We’ve heard (seen, in Ead’s blog/facebook/Iphone) so much about her:P

Ok, damn, I’m so tired now. Just received this video link from Ead. Damn it’s funny. All drivers should watch it!
