I seriously don't see a big deal. I mean, sure, we don't really have the sporting culture in Singapore. And even our country people are complaining. But isn't it good to start somewhere? With a foreign talent first, maybe when we pick up this culture, 20 years down the road, there will be a so called "true" singapore medalist.

nmind foreign talent or wht, i think end of the day, we have ourselves to beat. why didn't we send singaporeans there, because we didn't prove ourselves to be better than foreign talents. some ppl will say we concentrate on studies. but how many doc/lawyer/minister do we produce a year.

No leh... I think hor, I call you "Tiong Zai":P Sounds very vulgar doesn't it?

Maybe when people realise that many other countries (including USA) have naturalised citizens who compete for their adopted countries (think Zidane and Veira and Podolski etc) then having some China-born athletes competing for Singapore isn't that uncommon afterall?

I'm also a foreign talent, made in JB but not yet best in Singapore. However, in my heart, I am no more foreign than you or my Singapore neighbour.

And since I now make Tiong Bahru home, and my name ends with a Chong, it'll be apt that I call myself a New Ah Tiong.
